She was married to her uncle. Her husband - Javed Iqbal - is the first cousin of none other than Mehbooba's father Mufti Mohammed Saeed. The couple used to live in Delhi, but after prolong domestic battle they decided to call it a day. They have two daughters, who stayed with Mehbooba.
